This volume provides an interesting look at the genesis of narrowbody, short/medium range commercial jetliners ... as well as an interesting photo comparrison of the DC-9-30 and its modern-day descendant ... in size, shape and purpose, the Boeing 717.

This is a very detailed and very-well illustrated book covering the DC-9 series. From the early stages of its development, its almost 4 decades of service to the introduction of its kin - the B717 - into commercial service, the book is a great technical read. As with all the other airlife books, there is a detailed accident/incident list at the end in addition to the complete production list.
This is a great book about a great airliner. If you like this, you should also check out "Douglas Twinjets" by Thomas Becher

I'm very glad to have now belatedly acquainted myself with some of Kenneth Morris's fantasy fiction. The stories here are frequently based on traditional mythology and fairy tales, and Morris does quite well adapting them, reworking them, and retelling them in a suitably atmospheric manner. Fans of things like the Mabinogion will want to read these stories, as will those who like Lord Dunsany's work. It is also interesting to see how Morris, a Theosophist, expands upon and adapts Theosophy to his story-telling purposes, as well as uses the myths and stories as vehicles to teach Theosophical wisdom.

Doug Anderson knows what he's doing with obscure dead authors. This is fantastic stuff. Takes you back, back, back and away from these oh-so-Republican times. Thanks, Doug. T.M. Wright

The authors of this book, respected widely as accounting professors and as cheese analysts, brilliantly combine the keener points of e-business accounting and cheese analysis.

Just finished reading, marking, dog-earing this book! This is an excellent sourcebook for anyone, particularly business professionals, who want perspective on e-Commerce and e-Business. In fact, I wonder if the book has been mis-titled somewhat. In this five-chapter book, only the last chapter or two is directed to helping accountants and other assurance-service professionals understand their position in the e-Business space. The first three chapters are worth the price of the book to anyone interested in a fast, but in-depth, overview of how e-Business has emerged, its basic technology, and where it is likely headed. I particularly enjoyed the authors' effort to incorporate a lot of specific examples of successful and not-so-successful companies. The footnotes and references to each chapter are also extraordinary! Like most of us in the human race, I don't often read the footnotes. However, with this book, I was marking and crosschecking references with abandon. We're all struggling to "keep up" with the e-Business race. As I read this book, I felt like I finally fully understood a number of key issues of e-Business-despite having been a CFO of a fast-moving e-Commerce startup! I certainly recommend this read to anyone who feels that they might be slipping a little in "the race."

In this book (the twelfth edition) every economic subject is very well explained without difficult mathemayical concepts. People who like the mathematical approach can find something in the appendix. There are a lot of examples about real facts happened to real companies (Microsoft,...) or organization (OPEC...). The logic approach and the examples are very usefull for a beginner that first of all has to understand the main concepts rather than struggling in a difficult language or math.

The authors have explained all principles with remarkable ease taking numerous to the point examples.

Holmes's Book represent a clear vision of the paper of government's to deliver social services through technology infrastructure and confirm how government's processes have to modify its sense to deliver major benefits to more citizens. It is highly recommended.

Stars from Lillian Gish to Veronica Lake, and even from Montgomery Clift to Goldie Hawn make this a prime read for any movie star buff (and, if there ever was one, trust me, I would be him!). I give it more than five stars, and would definitely put my personal stamp of approval on it.

my god. this one blew me away. amazing i hadn't heard of it through normal review channels. destined to be a cult classic, rips through the end of the 20th century like no other satire. written in a wry witty way, with insight and humor.

weird to say, but it's a warm book about some cold people.

This is truly a must own book. If you are not familiar with this book, enjoy it, even savior it while you're reading it. This is the type of book that you never want to finish and when you do, you're practically bummed. The storyline is very innovative, the humor sharp and the pacings quick. The bottomline is this book is an excellent read.

I would love to go into particulars about the book but it's kind of a hard one to summarize. I would say that it's almost a cross of The Illuminatus Trilogy and SNOWCRASH. This next comment sounds like a lofty claim, but to me, this book was much better then stephenson's SNOW CRASH.

If you enjoy groundbreaking SCI-FI, I would highly recommend you looking further into this book. I can honestly say that it amazes me that this book never got more fanfare. Critics miss the boat all the time but this book is so good that it should have a grass roots or cult movement that keeps it selling.

Buy a copy, maybe that'll be the start, maybe not but I promise that after you finish reading the book you'll agree.

As a writer and fellow fan of Faulkner, I highly recommend this book to any student or fan (what's the difference, though?) of Faulkner's writings, and especially to any writers out there, and most of all, any Faulkner teachers. Faulkner is asked any question you can think of in this book, from certain meanings in his, "The Bear", to the long time controversy about the order of sections in "The Sound and the Fury", to the Adlers in "As I Lay Dying", all the way to why he prefers the Old Testament to the New. He even puts down Henry James in this book, and talks about his greatest influences on his writing, his favorite books (such as Cervantes' Don Quixote) and even puts in some good advice to aspiring authors, and how they should take writing, and even advice on how to write in the traditional Southern Gothic style. Truly a magnificent book that deserves top priority to any fan or teacher of Faulkner, or any writer in general! A masterpiece!!!

This book is a great read for the major films of Spielberg. It is done with a great deal of research by the author, who puts together a very good story line of the producer/director and how he and his films progressed over time. The author also provides excellent background information on the films, from both a technical point of view and also the creative story line. The text layout, photos, and great front and back cover photos are there to flesh out the films. It is also a fun book to read. All put together, this is a very good book to understand Spielberg, his movies, his life, and his impact on very successful creative and commercial 20th century movies.
